What to Expect:

Sunday Mornings

We encourage you to come as you are.
​We say it often: Whoever you are, wherever you’ve come from, we’re glad you are here. We pray that you will experience hope and belonging in your time with us.
We’re often a small gathering on Sundays, so you can expect a warm welcome. ​
Wear what makes you comfortable - casual or button up - there’s no expectation or dress code. 

Children & Youth

​Children & youth are integrated into the life of the church, including Sunday worship. There are special children’s areas in the front of the sanctuary stocked with worship materials just for them. ​

Additional options include:

• The Family Room, available downstairs as a quiet place for all ages to watch the livestreamed service. Children must be supervised. 
• The Nursery, provided downstairs during the service for children from birth to age 2. 
• Children's Worship, a time to hear and respond to God’s Story, meets downstairs for kids age 3 through fifth grade. They are dismissed during the service. 

​We take child safety very seriously. All volunteers who work with kids are background-checked and trained according to our Safe Church Policy.

Accessibility

​At Creston, accessibility means welcoming everyone as created in the image of God. We strive to provide accommodations that invite this posture of hospitality. While we’d welcome feedback on how we can continue growing in this area, the following are ways we aim to be accessible.
 
There are a few accessible parking spots on Buffalo Avenue along the east side of the church building. An elevator is located on the exterior SE side of the building.

Our church building does have an accessible, non-gendered bathroom in the church basement, available by elevator or stairs. We also have a few accessible seating options in the sanctuary.

For those experiencing hearing loss, we have LOOP in our sanctuary. For those with visual impairments, we provide large print bulletins, hymnals and Bibles, as well as digital bulletins.

We offer sensory tools and resources for all ages. Ask a designated Sunday morning Greeter for more information. ​

Worship

We enjoy many different styles of music including hymns, contemporary praise songs, spirituals and contemplative songs.  We have several praise teams that alternate leading on Sundays. Most weeks, worship will be accompanied by piano, and we’ll regularly include percussion, guitar, and other stringed or brass instruments. 
We generally follow an order of worship but also value creativity and regularly explore contemplative prayers, poetry, visio and lectio divina, among other expressions of worship.

Communion

We celebrate communion monthly and experience God’s abundant mercy and grace as we participate in this sacrament together. The table is open for anyone who would like to participate, including children by arrangement with a parent or guardian. All elements are gluten and dairy free. We typically come forward to receive the elements, or you can remain seated and they will be brought to you. ​
