OUR MINISTRIES

We gather frequently to encourage one another, to love our neighbors, to worship God, and to strengthen our faith. There are several opportunities to come and see what we're about. All are welcome to join us. If you have questions or would like more information on any of the following, contact the office at crestoncrc@gmail.com or (616) 459-2401.
Morning Worship: We gather for worship every Sunday at 10am. We sing songs, pray, share God Stories, read God's Word, celebrate the Lord's Supper, and listen for God’s voice. Children go to Children's Worship classes halfway through the service.

Sunday School: During the school year, all ages gather for Sunday School at 9am on Sunday mornings in the Ministry Center. It is a space for both new and seasoned believers to learn and grow in their faith.

House Church Small Groups: Meeting weekly in people's homes, these inter-generational groups of 8-15 people worship together through a liturgy similar to our Sunday morning service. Groups sing, read scripture, share God-stories and share prayer requests. In place of the sermon, the group hears a retelling of a Bible story and is invited to reflect on the story together.

Prayer Meetings: We gather in small groups to pray on Saturdays at 9am and Sundays at 9:30am.

Middle School Youth Group - Roots: Middle school students in grades 6 through 8 meet every other Sunday night to play games, eat snacks, and dig deeper into God's word. The group meets from 6:30pm to 8pm during the school year, with fun activities and outings throughout the whole year.

Women's Bible Study: Women from our church and neighborhood gather weekly for Coffee Break Bible Studies, to study God's Word and to pray and encourage each other. There are two groups: Tuesday evenings at 6:45pm, and Thursday mornings at 9:30am. These groups meet in the church basement or in our community garden.

Little Lambs Program: During the Thursday morning Coffee Break Bible Study, we offer a Little Lambs program for kids ages 2-5. The time includes singing fun songs and rhymes, hearing a Bible story, and stations involving the lesson of the day. Kids are able to learn while they play, create, and explore. We also offer a nursery at that time as well for ages 0-2.
Community Meals: We gather with friends and neighbors about once per month to enjoy good food and fellowship together. In the winter we eat in the church basement, and in the summer we block off Buffalo Ave and cook out in the street!
Buffalo Ave Night Out: In the summers, we sometimes block off Buffalo Ave for a Sunday afternoon block party. Friends, neighbors, and church members gather for snacks, outdoor games, and activities led by various church members.

North-End Anti-Racism Caucusing: On the fourth Wednesday of each month, we gather with other neighborhood churches to walk together the journey of racial reconciliation. Those who have attended CORR's Anti-Racism training are invited to participate in dinner and discussion related to race, with the goal of dismantling racism in our hearts and community and better loving and supporting all those made in God's image.

Community Gardens: Our community gardens provide a green space for residents and friends to grow fresh, organic vegetables, fruits, and flowers close to home. Gardeners share tools and enjoy time together through potlucks, work days, and story-time for children. The Carman Street garden is located behind Creston Church's building and contains a little free library and accessible garden beds. Contact crestoncommunitygardens@gmail.com for more info.
